Apax continues to monitor and manage its operational carbon footprint across all offices.
Overall, total emissions decreased year-on-year, driven primarily by reductions in Scope 2 and 3 emissions. Scope 2 emissions fell due to the New York and Mumbai offices sourcing renewable electricity through ‘Green Tariff’ contracts, while Scope 3 emissions declined following reduced business travel, improved IT efficiency through cloud storage, and an updated commuting methodology.

Apax has purchased high-quality carbon credits since 2019 to offset its operational emissions. The Firm has supported a range of impactful projects over time, including reforestation initiatives such as the Mycorrhizal Forestry project in Chile and the Mississippi Valley Reforestation project in the US. In 2023, Apax purchased additional credits from the Community Energy Solutions project in India and the Boone Appalachia Improved Forest Management project in Kentucky.
For 2024, Apax partnered with South Pole to offset its emissions with carbon removal credits, supporting two projects: the North Maine Woods Forestry Project and the Industrial Biochar Project in India, developed alongside corn-growing smallholders.

Apax Employees
We believe that diversity of ideas and experiences, grounded in meritocracy, makes us stronger and more innovative.
This helps us better serve investors, the Apax Funds' portfolio companies, and the communities in which we work. Our diverse meritocracy works to recruit outstanding people, and to create an organisation, culture, and ways of working to help all our people fulfil their potential.
An important part of attracting and retaining diverse talent is having internal policies, which enable employees to be empowered, efficient and flexible. Apax has reviewed its family-friendly policies and, as a result, have made changes and created new offerings to help support parents at the Firm. The Firm has aimed to enact these policies globally, although policies may vary due to local law and practice in certain jurisdictions. Some of the new policies include enhancements to parental leave, back-up day care, nanny overtime, parental coaching and leave management.

Cyber and AI
With the surge in digital tools and products, protecting information and guiding the safe use of emerging technologies is a core focus for the Firm.

To support the responsible adoption of AI, we have implemented a clear policy that outlines how these tools should be used across the firm. Training on AI is provided to all employees, including during onboarding, so that staff understand both the advantages and the risks that accompany this technology. Employees are encouraged to explore the potential of AI while following practical guidance on protecting information, avoiding misuse, and applying sound judgement when using public AI platforms.
Apax requires all employees to complete quarterly cyber awareness training, supported by regular phishing simulations and independent audits. These efforts are further strengthened by adherence to leading industry standards, which guide our policies, processes, and technology safeguards. By aligning with these frameworks, we ensure that our security practices remain comprehensive, resilient, and benchmarked against best-in-class global standards.
